Reviving Hope for A Girl Child

Women Empowerment

To break the cycle of poverty in our rural communities, we deploy a participatory approach where we skill and empower our own community members to steer development.
With Girls and Women at the center, we invest our time and resources to impart business skills that enable beneficiaries generate income, utilize opportunities and contribute to community development.

The women empowerment program targets widows, women and girls with HIV, teenage mothers and victims of gender based violence through the following interventions;

  1. Counselling and guidance- under which we try to rehabilitate women and girls to believe and hope once again.
  2. Awareness on sexual and reproductive health issues- encouraging victims of HIV to take their drugs, teenagers to practice safe sex, mothers to go for antenatal etc
  3. Creating income opportunities- where we train skills in tailoring, sanitary pad making, salon and bakery. Our training center is growing to accommodate several other skills such as carpentry and joinery, computing and construction

Back to School Program

We target children who would otherwise miss school and ensure they acquire quality education.
Girls are at the center of this particular program because we believe by educating the girl child, everyone wins.

We ensure all children enjoy their right to education without discrimination. The Girls who often drop out of school or miss classes when they reach puberty due to lack of sanitary pads; and others who are married off or impregnated young; all deserve an education.
National Housing and Planning Committee reported in 2014, that 1 in every 16 of the girls in Butambala aged 12 to 17 years had already given birth; 1 in every 15 of the girls aged 12 – 17 had ever been in a marriage union. These girls deserve a second chance.
We therefore call upon any individuals or institutions to join us as we embark on a life changing journey of enrolling back these dropouts. We also encourage advocacy for policy reforms to enable teenage mothers go back to school.

Vocational Training

This program aims at giving a second chance to the young people who could not afford education past primary level and those who could not proceed from secondary school to tertiary level. In order to enable them contribute to community development, we offer short courses that last 6 months and are affordable at start up.
We welcome any Educational institutions like Vocational training institutes who can collaborate with us in organizing joint academic and scientific activities such as lectures, symposia and conferences or any of the relevant academic disciplines that our people may undertake for the betterment of their future.
